Tangolunda is known for being the location of the upscale resorts in the area. Some of the top destinations in the area include The Plaza Tangolunda Hotel, Las Brisas and Campo de Golf Tangolunda. The Huatulco Campo de Golf Tangolunda has many great reviews. The most frequently used word in describing the area is challenging. Designed by Mario Schjetnan Dantan and Pedro Guereca, it features a lot of open space and beautiful views of the surrounding areas.

Santa Cruz is a small town located nearby and features the main beach and marina area. It differs in that it provides a much more genuine Mexican atmosphere. Visit the Zocalo while in this area of Huatulco. Otherwise known as the Center Plaza, this is the central location for all activity in La Crucecita. Street vendors set up in this area in the evening and many of the activities and events involve this part of La Crucecita.

Chahue is the area between Tangolunda and Santa Cruz. This area offers great views and activities on the Bahia Chahue and has 86 slips with electricity and water for those looking for an excursion on the beautiful surrounding waters.
